Blood Music by Grreg Bear comes to mind, and of course The World's End
incidentally, just watched the first episode of Pluribus. Interesting. Not a new premise by any means, but let's see where this goes.
I'm well aware. You can never underestimate the excesses people will go to if they think they can make money from it. But that doesn't mean we should just quietly accept it.
Then just let me have it. if it makes no difference then why take me to task? Didn't bother answering.
I've said this before and here it is again, proles:

the ONLY REASON to use AI in a creative endeavor is because you don't want to pay actual artists and writers. That's the ONLY REASON TO DO IT.
AI "creativity" is the answer to a question that NO ONE EVER ASKED
Let's never forget:

AI has to be trained on the creative work of others. So it's ALREADY morally bankrupt because those creators never get paid for this training.

And you can ALWAYS TELL when AI has been used for something. It's all the fucking SAME. THAT'S NOT CREATIVITY
Have you SEEN their new commercial? It's fucking AI SLOP. YOU CAN TELL.

I even think the song running behind it all might be AI-made too. It's all just SHIT
FFFFUUUUUUCK YYYOOOOUUUUUUU COCA-COLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
reminder: the Theme from Peter Gunn by the Art of Noise is badass

My first thought was "This is not above ACTUAL immigration officers". When you possess total control over another human being, only your moral code prevents you from assault. And if you have a moral code, you're probably not in immigration.

i just saw the Doobie Brothers did a Tiny Desk concert and good for them, but holy fuck Michael McDonald sounded ROUGH
It's time Barry Bonds was in the hall of Fame. He's a household name and a huge, continuing part of baseball lore. That deserves inclusion.
So really, he's being penalized for the inability of the MLB to catch him in the first place. Had he been caught just once, he'd have been fined and then would have never done them again. And he's still have hit all those home runs.
When players today get caught using PEDs, they're fined and suspended. They don't get outright banned; that happens with a third violation.

Bonds operated in that era in which PEDs were still being investigated. If caught he would have first been fined, then given a chance to play "clean".
If you accomplish what he did -- including all the players who did and STILL look up to and admire him -- making the fans love him and giving them joy every time he stepped up, then he belongs in the HoF.
From a rules standpoint, he's being penalized for his apparent use of PEDs. But PEDs don't make your eyesight better. They don't improve your timing and discipline at the plate. These are the attributes good hitters have. He DID hit all those home runs and it wasn't because of PEDs.
I wasn't a baseball fan during the Barry Bonds years. But he should absolutely be in the Hall of Fame. Here are my arguments for his inclusion.
i hate it when writers assume they know what you're thinking. you've seen it. example:

"The other day I was getting a latte (yes, of course it was with soy milk)"

that assumes you read the sentence and thought "wait, did she get soy milk with it?"

fuck you, you don't know what i'm thinking
apropos of nothing -- as so much of what I say is -- the bridge sequence in The Winter Soldier is a fucking incredible achievement. Every shot communicates intent, camera movement is clear, direction is innovative and exciting, even the combat itself is fresh and vibrant
