When I'm experiencing the world, characters, music, story, gameplay, etc. -- it's very fun and I like it a lot.

But as soon as the gacha shit creeps in, and there are 8000 little red notifications all over the screen and limited events and encouragement to pull and microtransactions, I'm so out.

I haven't played ZZZ in months again, but the character designs still speak to me...sometimes I'll just randomly think about Jane Doe or Miyabi or Anby, etc. I wish it was a real game and not a gacha...

If I'm in casual matchmaking for a fighting game, I fight somebody higher ranked than me, I mop them, and then they refuse the rematch -- they are a coward and they definitely smell bad. Sorry, that's just the law.

Good morning!

I keep thinking about a couple books I wanna write. I'm working on my most elaborate animation idea yet. I started reading comics, but I also still read novels and manga. I'm learning the One Piece TCG. I'm improving at GBVS. I wish there were more hours in a day.

When I was out walking this morning, a cat I've never seen before came running over to me while meowing insistently from half a block away. They did a figure eight around my ankles so I petted them, scritched their chin and said they were a good kitty -- then, seemingly satisfied, they wandered off.

if I'm scrolling Pinterest or whatever, genuinely vibing and immersed in aesthetic, I think that's okay (as a treat). but when the scrolling becomes so automatic that I'm barely registering what I see or read or hear, or I give each thing one microsecond of my time and that's it, it's quitting time

Good morning!

I've been spending less time on social media lately. When I catch myself scrolling mindlessly, I just...stop. I read a book or watch a movie or do some cleaning. I don't know if that's good for my career as an artist who posts to social media, but it feels *great*.

On my comic book arc lately -- I've been a manga guy since middle school and only dabbled in a few Batman and Wolverine collected volumes and Watchmen in the past, but I'm enjoying trying more stuff out. Absolute Batman is very fun. Checking out the new TMNT next!
