TinyCat is extra tiny. Vialle seems to be feeling better. Over the past year she’s opened up: trusting and developing relationships with the humans and other cats. Also, I need to clean my desk. #cats #CatsOfBluesky

I’m excited to share something new! My coworker’s wife has just launched a YouTube channel, Global Plates by Manisha, featuring delicious home-cooked recipes.

It looks great … and now I’m hungry.

Pleas take a look. 🙏

www.aardvark.co.nz/daily/2025/0... "the Cray had about 160MFLOPS of raw processing power; the Pi has... up to 30GFLOPS. Yes... that's *giga*FLOPS. This makes it almost 200 times faster than the Cray."

Its a fun read, and beggars belief to imagine how much hardware has improved.

I just learned that my niece hasn’t read Zelazny’s Amber series, and I’m so excited for her. She loves paper books, so I ordered her a set of the 1970’s book club version I first read. #zelazny #amber

Least likely tropes in fiction:

Two complex systems, whether familiar or newly discovered, can integrate in minutes instead of months.

I think "Independence Day" and all the properties I can recall that have "Star" in the title.

Sometimes we watch stories like this out of envy. :)

Least likely tropes in fiction:

Any mechanism will still function without maintenance after a year, much less a century.

I'm looking at you Indiana Jones, Lara Croft, SG-1, etc.

I love this, and will watch these forever. I laugh about it every time.

Rewatching “Stargate Universe” with The Wife. This is the first time we’ve seen it since it came out in 2009. It’s been fun, and _completely different_ than the previous SG shows. The camera work and framing is great and really contributes to the tone. Robert Carlyle is _terrifying_. #stargate

My favorite place to eat in #Orlando is the food truck park. I could eat my weight in picanha. We got here early and it’s filled up fast.
