Last night @ajolipa.bsky.social and I crested the hill and got Elo 2.0 available to the public! Check out the work we've been doing at www.mtgeloproject.net. Read the most recent blog post, search for yourself and check for data errors, and enjoy some of the new features. ^_^

I've uploaded and timestamped the commentary that @ajelenbogen.bsky.social and I did for RC Yokohama; it's now on the Elo Project YouTube channel. If you want to see what Japan's best brought to the table, here you go:

I have never done this before, but I'm planning to stream the curation process for RC Vegas. Tentatively planning to do this on Friday, but it will depend on whether the final standings appear on magic.gg, because they are needed. If they aren't present, then it'll have to be next week.

Fifteen minutes from day two starting in Yokohama! @ajelenbogen.bsky.social is joining me on twitch.tv/ajlvi to call all the action. If you're looking for something between rounds of Vegas / when Vegas is over, we have you covered!

Exact details!
Day 1 the source stream doesn't start until round 4, so we'll get underway at 1:45pm local time = 11:45pm Eastern Friday night.
Day 2 begins at the start of the day (round 9) at 9am local time = 7pm Saturday local time.
See you there!
Still waiting on exact details but next weekend is not just Vegas and Antwerp and Calgary, but Yokohama as well, which means I'll be live on twitch.tv/ajlvi overnight Fri+Sat to supply English language commentary. For the first time in a few RC cycles I'll be joined by @ajelenbogen.bsky.social!

I'm starting work to gather data from post-pandemic 10Ks. This will take some time, but the gears are turning. First up are the main side event/RCQ from each US RC, since next cycle we'll have limited qualifiers at all the RCs to do (yes, they'll all be for Elo, assuming I can get the data!).

www.mtgeloproject.net is updated today with SS Baltimore, SS Liverpool, RC Melbourne, and MXP Seattle. Cheers!
November 8, 2025 at 7:51 PM
Apologies for delaying the Elo update -- we were going to put Melbourne + Baltimore out this morning, but Liverpool standings appeared on magic dot gg, so I'm going to finish curating that and add it to the payload.

Dumb question: can someone teach me how to start from www.spicerack.gg and, via a series of links, wind up at the tournament page for the Laughing Dragon 20K held last weekend?

Friday routine: spamming F5 on the magic.gg event archive page, waiting for final standings from last weekend's events to appear. (All set to finish SS Baltimore and RC Melbourne as soon as I have real names to work with!)

Here's the leaderboards had this existed in 2023 (when @yellowhat.bsky.social led the way at 17-6-1) and 2024 (when @simonnielsenmtg.bsky.social put up a 20-4!). Top 16 was a clean cut at 42MP in 2023, but the 45s went down to 18th place in 2024. Both years 1+ person was top 16 without all 8 drafts.

I count myself as among the winners of this Standard format... probably won't have to budget too much time to get the GP curated next weekend.
I set myself a line for spotlight Baltimore, if there were fewer than 300 players on Monday at noon I would sign up. There are 160 players (now 161) enrolled in the event 🤣

Insane work week means I haven't started work on EW curating yet, but I will be curating them. Can someone do the legwork of finding me a completed version of this bracket? Did they ever put it up on stream or something? Sometimes I get post-SF bracket from stream + watch finals for its game score.
Congrats to our 2025 NA Legacy Champs Top 8!

I owe you some PTEOE stats (they're coming, I promise!), but until then, here's a new Elo project blog post. This week I overhauled my sheet that tracks cuts made at PTs, so there's a lot of new numbers to look at! mtgeloproject.net/blog/60/

Only like a month late, but SS Orlando and MXP Phoenix are now on www.mtgeloproject.net. Had to get caught up before the PT this weekend! I'm not holding my breath that the open PTQs will have usable data but maybe I'll somehow jinx myself into a lot of extra curating work next week...

I've been trying to clear this room FOREVER. Probably spent like seven or eight hours on it a while ago and gave up, then another three hours or so this week. Finally got it. I could cry.

One of my like top five favorite things about life on planet Earth is happening this afternoon at 4:27pm Eastern at GDQ (twitch.tv/gamesdonequick) — incredible Mario players sight-reading custom levels. If you haven't ever watched something like this before, I cannot recommend this enough.

Wow SS Chiba curating is done. That only took a week... what am I even going to do with myself now?
July 10, 2025 at 12:46 AM
Thanks to all who watched SS Chiba with us last weekend! Here's the answers to the props sheet. A number of people got 8/10, including @jkyu06.bsky.social and @seangoddard.bsky.social. I'll be back with the RC in the fall!

Time for the top 8! We've got six different archetypes, who said Standard was washed?
On twitch.tv/ajlvi tonight I'm commentating day 2 of the Spotlight Series event in Chiba. We've got 8-9 hours of Standard on tap, and I'll in the booth with Chase Masters. Come hang out!
