Someone on marketplace got mad at me because I wouldn’t deliver an item to her home because she’s in a wheelchair.
I am also disabled and so is my partner. And I just don’t think you get to expect special treatment from individuals selling their shit on marketplace because you’re disabled.

My partner worked for two years to transition out of academia by getting a degree in counseling and he finally graduated this week!
The ceremony was at 8:30 am and would have required us to get up at like 5am, so we skipped it and recreated it in our kitchen instead.
I was the chancellor.

My favorite was when a prominent outlet could not get a quote from OpenAI so asked ChatGPT for a quote on behalf of OpenAI instead. And ChatGPT basically told them it couldn’t speak for the company too. And they printed that.

I don’t drink alcohol. I hate it and never have. I know a lot of people like that. Don’t assume someone is an alcoholic or pregnant just because they’re not drinking. I am sharing this not because I don’t want you to assume that about me but to protect those who are and don’t want to be outted.
Just a friendly reminder as we go into the holidays:
Folks don't have to explain to you why they don't drink.
If you offer them a drink and they decline, don't ask them why. It's not your business.
Just offer them something without alcohol to drink instead. And move on.

I 100% agree and would add that if you are hosting a holiday event and you do NOT have something festive, creative and delicious for your guests to drink without alcohol in it, you are actually an asshole
