if the literal cops are out here saying "call us before you believe any cop saying theyre a cop is actually a cop" states need to pass laws about LEOs IDing like yesterday or they will face undermined cooperation and faith in the entire law enforcement mechanism at a level that beggars belief

this is interesting to me...

with a fake policeman fucking about murdering people, the proper police issue an order for citizens to "contact dispatch" before believing an officer is an officer, and polis are instructed to only approach people in pairs.
