How to lose 3 weeks of time:

1 - Create a new animal for your game as a fun side task.
2 - Discover sprites in general are using too much vram to be loaded at all times.
3 - Move to addressables so you can dynamically load in both sprite atlases & animation clips.

Decided to do something entirely different this weekend and make a very big lizard (think house size). The slowless hopefully shows that off a bit. Need to pixelate it and put it ingame next.

Added a subtle object highlight 🟨 & a new radial menu for when you open up additional options on objects. It's fun finishing a huge feature like a character creator & then getting to these little bits that add a lot of character themselves.

Finally, a fully working character creator. Full UI sound effects & music. Very glad to have this done. Need to add in default clothing options next but this is a big milestone hit.

A very much work in progress character creator. Quite fun to build so far. You'll be able to change quite a bit, and not be locked into those changes. The technology exists to change virtually anything in the world of Afterglow.

Added trails to Nanoflow abilities as well as improved bullet trails. Unfortunately (for them) the dancers have turned into my target dummies.

New additions: hit impact effects & trails to bullets. Also made bullets glow a bit more. The colour of a weapon's projectile will probably be customisable, or at the very least change depending on which weapon you're using.

Rifle skills. Obviously not complete but it's the most fleshed out skill thus far. I was going to make the ability icons coloured too but the monochrome sort of fits the UI.

Added a knock-back animation & tidied up the pistol whip. I'm so glad I added pistol combat, it already feels satisfying to use. Next up is making the actual projectiles a bit prettier.

New skills! Unarmed, Swords, Pistols, and Rifles.

Seeing as my animation pipeline is much more efficient than expected, I've been able to separate combat into more distinct paths like these. Which is great because I love variety.

🔫Ranged combat. Still a bit buggy and some animations need tweaking but it's definitely getting there. Also added very short shorts. Some may call them hotpants.
