Yesterday, farmers from uMshwathi visited fellow farmers at Amandusi Farm in Richmond for a valuable agroecology knowledge exchange.

This cross-visit promoted mutual learning, the sharing of best practices.

On the 22nd of August, a Farm Dweller Indaba in uMshwathi Local Municipality was held, a first of its kind. A proposal was made through AFRA by a Community Based Organisation that is in partnership with AFRA called Qina Mbokodo.

This was Part 2 of the Introduction to Agroecology Training, focusing on key topics like the Principles of Agroecology, Food Sovereignty, Biodiversity, recycling, and polyculture.
On 30–31 July 2025, AFRA, with the support of SERITI, conducted a comprehensive training session with farmers, aimed at deepening farmers’ understanding of key issues shaping agriculture and food systems today.
The training covered topics including the global food system, industrial agriculture.
