Join Luke and our other outstanding panellists as we explore research pathways, leadership, and career development at the 𝐀𝐄𝐩𝐢𝐀 𝐄𝐌𝐂𝐑 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐢 𝐒𝐲𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐮𝐦 — a hybrid event designed to connect and inspire the next generation of epigenetics researchers across Australasia.
aepia.bsky.social
Luke has held prestigious Fellowships including the Marie Sklodowska-curie Fellowship (EU), CJ Martin Early Career Fellowship (NHMRC) & is currently a Viertel Senior Medical Research Fellow. He is the recipient of the 2024 Max Burger prize & the 2024 Lorne Genome Mid-Career Prize.
aepia.bsky.social
His research aims to understand how epigenetic forces (i.e. on chromatin) serve as a guiding force to direct gene regulatory machinery in cells. This involves fundamental & applied models, particularly around the genomic regulatory factors that are frequently mutated in cancer.
aepia.bsky.social
Luke is a group leader at @saigenci.bsky.social & @acepigenetics.bsky.social, within the University of Adelaide. He has extensive expertise in epigenetic regulation and a strong commitment to fostering creative, inclusive science. A perspective we can’t wait to share with our community!
