What’s striking to me beyond the flower motif of SHf is the persistent doll theme. Girls must play with dolls in preparation to become mothers, and girls become dolls when they bend to societal expectation; played with, brutalized, and discarded

Hot take, I think Rinko Silent Hill f is great actually. She's a victim of their oppressive patriarchal society too, adhering to feminine expectations unlike Hinako. She expects to be rewarded for it with Shu's affection, but it gets her nowhere
