"Second: My apologies for following you in such a manner..." Her brow furrowed in mild annoyance at his smirked apology... "I simply had to see the woman that caught Louisoix's eye enough for him to drag her all the way here."

A male rock ptarmigan (Lagopus muta) in winter plumage.

Ptarmigan is from Gaelic 'tarmachan' meaning "croaker". The p- was added when people mistakenly assumed it was a Greek word.
