In markings of 605 (County of Warwick) Squadron RAF.

Delivered to 605 Squadron on the 17th August 1940, R4118 saw action during the Battle of Britain based out of RAF Croydon. R4118 flew 49 sorties, shooting down or damaging five enemy aircraft.

Memorial to Lt's Melvill and Coghill killed at Battle of Isandlwana 22nd January 1879.
Lieutenants Melville and Coghill were not found until the 4th February 1879 and were buried where they died.
They were then reburied in an isolated grave on 14th April where today is marked by a memorial.

146 years ago today on the 22nd January 1879 a British force camped at Isandlwana were defeated by a Zulu Army of 20,000 warriors.
The British lost 52 officers and 806 other ranks killed plus 471 Africans were killed fighting for the British.
Zulu casualties estimated at some 2,000 dead.

Unveiled on the 2nd June 1904 the Memorial stands outside the Swan Hotel across the road from the Embankment beside the River Ouse.
Represents an infantry soldier in khaki service dress, and in heavy marching order.
