Father's Day card to my Dad, 1966. That's one of my main childhood memories, Dad unconscious on the settee every Saturday afternoon, the TV still on, empty cans or bottles all around him, smelling of beer. If you woke him, he'd swing at you. I don't think you can buy a card like that nowadays.
A vintage Father's Day card shows a middle aged man asleep on a sofa with empty beer bottles around him.

Just found out the local care home charges £7180 a month.
That's £86,160 a year.
And apparently they also get council subsidies.
I am truly shocked.

Almost everyone on the BBC Board was appointed by Boris Johnson, only Samir Shah and Deborah Turness weren't.

Why is this still the case?
Why are we still seeing biased reporting, biased interviewing and biased omission of news.

Can anyone tell me?

"Peter Mandelson lost his job for being friends with a paedophile. Donald Trump, who was friends with the same paedophile, was given a state banquet hosted by a King whose brother lost his job because he was friends with the same paedophile."

For over 20 years there have been press reports that Tony Blair is a "plausible psychopath".
He was an instigator in the Iraq War, that led many thousands of deaths.
He destroyed the BBC as we knew it and made it a govt mouthpiece.
Now he is in talks about him running Gaza. ☹️

Kemi Badenoch has just said it's a ploy to distract people from Andy Burnham's leadership ambitions. I don't really think Andy Burnham is on the minds of many in Scotland, Wales and N. Ireland either. It's a very Anglo-centric notion.

Amusing to see the local name for Fraserburgh topping the place names in a Japanese history book.

I am genuinely interested in seeing what the charges are going to be. It might have future implications for all of us. Think of banners at political marches, tifos at games.

I remember when the decision was made to make BBC1 a "dumbed down" channel and shift former BBC1 type content to BBC2. All in the name of ratings. BBC4 was supposed to be the "new BBC2", but it was massively underfunded. It's been a race to the bottom ever since.

Racial profiling is now completely legal in the USA. This includes not only what language you speak or what colour your skin is, but also what accent you might have.

I think a lot of people have their blinkers on when it comes to Reform and how many will vote for them.

She seems very suited for Reform. (That's not meant to be taken as a positive in any way).

The Tories have pledged to intensify the extraction of oil and gas in the North Sea.
Reform have promised the same.
May I remind you all this was the oil and gas that was running out in 2014. share.google/fSbZ2CD7inuB...

It's sad to see the large amount of well known SNP faces standing down. Some I have known for years and genuinely like. But the political scene has become very niche, and the "broad church" approach is gone, along with many members.
