The trailblazing transgender rights activist Miss Major has passed away at the age of 78.

Miss Major was a lifelong organizer and participant in the ballroom scene. She took part in the 1969 Stonewall Riots and was injured by the police — but she kept fighting.
President Trump is escalating his abuses of power — deploying the National Guard, silencing dissent, and targeting communities of color. This isn’t normal, and we’re not powerless.

President Trump is moving to deploy up to 1,700 National Guard troops in 19 states — including Arkansas — to escalate his crackdown on immigrants.

Communities deserve safety, dignity, and due process, not soldiers at their doorsteps.

(5/6) What you can do: Support organizations fighting for trans youth and connecting families with resources such as:

• ACLU of Arkansas
• Intransitive
• BeYouu
• House of GG
• Campaign for Southern Equality
• Transgender Law Center
(3/6) The court leaned on the Supreme Court’s recent ruling in Skrmetti (upholding Tennessee’s ban), ignoring the overwhelming medical evidence that gender-affirming care is safe, effective, and often life-saving.
(2/6) Once the injunction is lifted:
Once the injunction is lifted:
• Puberty blockers & hormones for minors will be banned
• Doctors will be blocked from making formal referrals for this care
• Families will face even more barriers to the medical support their kids need
(1/6) Arkansas’s ban on gender-affirming care for trans youth is imminent after a recent court ruling.

A reminder on this Labor Day: Slavery still exists in the form of incarcerated labor.

It’s long overdue to end forced labor in prisons.
NEW: A federal judge has ordered Conway schools to take down Ten Commandments displays from classrooms.

We’ll keep fighting in court to protect the First Amendment rights of all Arkansans.

The military has no place occupying DC or any other American city.
Arkansas' law requiring the Ten Commandments in public schools is unconstitutional — and a federal court agrees.
New: We sent letters to Arkansas superintendents warning the Ten Commandments law is unconstitutional. The injunction covers four districts, but all schools must uphold students' constitutional rights.

The court upheld every student’s right to learn free from government-imposed religion — this is a victory for Arkansas families and for the First Amendment.
