Artist Embarking on a long term personal project to illustrate each individual book of The Iliad, The Odyssey, and the Aeniad. I plan to use this platform to talk about the fascinating aspects of the text and how they influence my art process.

Apollo inflicting a plague on the Greek army upon the prayers of the priest Chryses (Book 1 of The Iliad).
I am embarking on a long term passion project of illustrating every single book of #TheIliad, #TheOdyssey, and #TheAeneid over the next few months. This is the first of many paintings to come.
Maybe I'll get around to sharing some of my old #art.
Here is a 30"×24" acrylic painting I did of the legend #jimihendrix. I am a massive fan of his music and spend a lot of my time trying to learn his songs on my guitar xD

I have a very old HP deskjet printer cum scanner that does the job for me for smaller works. For anything A3 and above, I use an iPhone camera usually. Tho the camera thing becomes really annoying when i work in mediums like acrylics where I get a really bad glare off the reflective paint surface.
Hello Henri! What an adorable lil forg you are
I really quite like your dreamy artstyle!
Hey these designs are so cool!
If you too like this sort of stuff (ancient classics/ art/ etc.), do accompany me on this journey ;)
Will be nicer with a few friends. Also my posts will probably be much more informal than this thread but I just thought I’d sort out a crisp intro to begin with.
Cheers :D
It’s definitely the journey I hope to enjoy most but perhaps if I can keep this gig going, I’ll end up with 60 #acrylicpaintings by the end (24+24+12 books); which would make for a nice solo art show I must say, but lemme not get ahead of myself xD.

I also plan to watch online lectures and read secondary literature to gain more insight into the intricate thematic elements of the text so that I can impart as much of the essence of these works into my illustrations as I possibly can.
As for #TheIliad, which is what I am making my way through right now, I am reading three separate translations- the one by Robert Fagles, the prose translation by Samuel Butler, and the one with the rhyme by Alexander Pope xD.
#GreekMythology
Along the way, I plan to document my journey on this fresh new social media platform. As I read through the text, I plan to share my raw unfiltered reactions to the narrative unfolding, and share concept/ thumbnail sketches that these first reactions might inspire.
