There are so many German words that come to mind: Backpfeifengesicht (face in need of a slap), Ohrwurm (literally ear worm, meaning a song you can’t get out of your head), verschlimmbessern (make something worse by trying to improve it), Kummerspeck (the weight you gain from eating while sad) etc

The memorial to the members of the Reichstag who were murdered during the Third Reich in Nazi Germany. 96 cast iron plates, each with a the name of a person (90 men, 6 women), their birth year, and where and how they died (if known). This memorial doesn’t represent all of the representatives who died as for example they didn’t count the people who killed themselves in response to the pressures they were put under.
