Honestly, the only thing about this that really interests me by this point is how it’ll probably mean MCC on Switch 2.
Maybe a few things tied to CPU performance or something along those lines?

I’ve noticed in general the camera seems a bit… “wobblier” on this version of the game than I ever remember the Wii or All-Stars version being. Maybe the death planes are something relative to the viewpoint?
$13 million game budget, if leaks are to be believed.

Unrelated, if you buy this on Switch 2 it's the most expensive Pokémon game so far.
Inferiority complexes are funnier than superiority complexes, basically.
Honestly, I think they even play worse in a lot of the ways that really matter.

Classic Crash gameplay REALLY hinges on the reliability of everything, and N Sane messes that up in a lot of ways. It’s to the point where I’ve seen the games get a reputation for issues that are more from the remakes.
Thinking about it, I’ve settled on “good art direction depicted effectively” as my era-neutral definition of “good graphics”.

N. Sane has weaker art direction executed more inconsistently.

Honestly, between that and the collision issues, I could never recommend these over the originals.
I feel like the big threshold 6th gen crossed was the first games that “look like they’re meant to”.

I feel like Wind Waker’s achievement was being one of the earliest major examples of a game that has strong art direction that completely translated to the final product.
Unfortunately with the more powerful hardware I doubt we’ll see many big Nintendo games take less than 4 years to get made by this point.
I completely believe the team moved on to 5 immediately, but there’s no way we were ever getting it earlier than 2027.

So far I’ve noticed the main pattern for S2E’s is that they’re in series/subseries that won’t be getting new installments for a good few years.
And once they had it cleaned up to advertiser standards, they had successfully transformed it into a million dollar website.
Honestly, I think the new versions actually do a good job of avoiding this for a textures-only overhaul.
Luckily, I can just sell my copy of 3D All-Stars I bought used for $40 and pick up a (used) copy of this. So technically I’ll be getting it for $40.

Only really used All-Stars as “Galaxy HD” by this point anyway. Not much point holding on to it with this one being better.
Really a shame about the price, because I actually really like the care and (almost more importantly) restraint with how they’ve polished these two up. Wish more HD “remasters” handled things like these. This is miles ahead of something like DKC Returns HD.

…they just shouldn’t be charging $70.
I’m convinced they’ve been the canary for every wave of price hikes because they sell less software, so they make less royalties.

Need more returns on the front end.
Final Horizon fit that bill, at least to me.

Whenever I see people going on about how “good” it is I feel like I’m going insane. Unironically I think it’s some of the worst stuff Sonic Team’s ever put out.
It’s because we’ve basically heard zilch from Nintendo.
I like to imagine it was in the can but scheduled for later, and as soon as everyone was given another great reason to hate Disney they slammed the post button as soon as they could.
The thing that makes the grimdark-esque stuff in the Absolute books work so well is how we still see them all take on the heroism we know them for despite their circumstances being so much shittier.
In the next page he cuts off the “killer” hand.
Yeah, their current estimate is about 87GB total.
Like I said, that being an issue means they’ll DEFINITELY have a solution.

I was honestly expecting that if they were going to do Galaxy 2 they’d do it with an All-Stars S2E so they could lock it to a console that’ll always have Joycons. But, it being a Switch 1 game means they’ve done SOMETHING.
Yoshi levels in Galaxy 2 require moving+jumping+pointing all at the same time, so they’ll be doing more pointer options since the All-Stars touch screen solution doesn’t really fit there.

I’m still convinced that’s why 2 didn’t make the All-Stars cut, since the Switch Lite was on the market.
Honestly it’s to the point where I’m still not 100% sure what the gameplay loop actually is.
Unfortunately it apparently only being in stereoscopic probably means that not many people will use it.

The listings for the two holder options both say they’re “required” to play.
