My solitude has ceased to be solitude. I am surrounded by the goddesses of revenge.
Was taught by a Chinese restaurant that the best way to boil dumplings is the 3x method.

Bring salted water to boil, throw in dumplings, stir gently, bring water to boil, stir, add 1/4 cup cold water, repeat 2x times.

Works for any type of dumplings pierogis, pilmeni, etc

I know it ain't sexy or futuristic but you know what tech has never really given me any headaches?

Wired tech.

Had to dig out my old usb keyboard because the Logi Bluetooth keyboard decided to be a pain in the ass.

Eight years later, Amazon Drone Delivery is still meh

Only one item can be delivered at a time. It can’t weigh over five pounds. It can’t be too big. It can’t be something breakable, since the drone drops it from 12 feet. The drones can’t fly when it is too hot or too windy or too rainy.
Look, Up in the Sky! It’s a Can of Soup!
Amazon’s much-hyped drone project is dropping small objects on driveways. Some customers are not sure what it delivers beyond minestrone.

I was today years old when I learned that virtually every restaurant outside of China was selling fake Yangzhou fried rice.

The only proper recipe of Yangzhou fried rice was released by The Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision of Yangzhou
The Niceties of Fried Rice
YANGZHOU fried rice and Fujian fried rice (also known as Hokkien fried rice) are always found on the menus of most fancy Cantonese restaurants, especially Chinese restaurants in hotels.

Watched this video 200x, honed the knife and on the first attempt cut off my finger.

This isn't a butcher, this is a chicken whisperer.

Ahh, the beauty of fall when the leaves 🍁 are on the ground and scooping the dogs poop turns into a game of Where’s Waldo.

What’s the gene called that makes kids sleep in during school days but makes them wake up at 6am on holidays and weekends?

At times, going to the vet is like having someone read out the top results from a Google search.

Ultimately, we all just try to make educated guesses.

Chef Andrew Hunter, Head of R&D for Wolfgang Puck, recommends substituting half the amount of table salt in a recipe with the equivalent amount of soy sauce. This can save you about 6000 mg of sodium without affecting taste due to the MSG in soy sauce.

Will have to try.

Dog parks have become some of the worst places to socialize your dog as the owners are glued to their phone oblivious to what their dog is doing.

“The destiny of nations depends on how they nourish themselves.”

It was the French philosopher Brillat-Savarin who wrote this and I think it is very true today as we’ve lost connection with real food.

Ngl, was making smoked salmon bagels 🥯 for the kids for school and they asked to scoop them but how does one not tear it when applying cream cheese on them?!??

I even whip the cream cheese and it would be a PITA, so I cursed at them and told them to leave.

Imagine, you can't even lure back people into the office with free alcohol. What has the world come to?

I think I read that on avg people WFH save $51 a day. It's real money but working in your PJs - priceless.
