Was taught by a Chinese restaurant that the best way to boil dumplings is the 3x method.
Bring salted water to boil, throw in dumplings, stir gently, bring water to boil, stir, add 1/4 cup cold water, repeat 2x times.
Works for any type of dumplings pierogis, pilmeni, etc

Chef Andrew Hunter, Head of R&D for Wolfgang Puck, recommends substituting half the amount of table salt in a recipe with the equivalent amount of soy sauce. This can save you about 6000 mg of sodium without affecting taste due to the MSG in soy sauce.
