My 5 year old: Oh I actually love this song. When I was a baby I used to listen to it all the time.

(She did not listen to this song when she was a baby)

Freaks And (Child) Prodigies: Historicising Cuteness […] As a strategy for managing the radical Otherness of the child, cuteness is […] intimately bound up with the history of the ‘freak’. There are obvious parallels between child and freak: both are liminal figures, residing on the boundaries that separate the ‘fully human’ from the ‘less-than-human’. 4 That ‘cute’ child and ‘freak’ are reciprocally defined is supremely evident in the film E.T., which constructs an identification between child and freak (only the children can communicate with E.T.) in order to position the freakish extraterrestrial as a (cute) monster to be adopted. The monstrosity of the ‘alien’ E.T. does not diminish but rather intensifies his cuteness – in part because his desire for ‘home’ (as well as his docility) renders him sentimentally recuperable, available to assimilation within normative domestic and affectional structures.

Hoagie assault guy, if convicted, will be punished more strongly than J6 folks who beat police officers with poles and other objects and are now walking free (and probably joining CBP)
At some point that evening, there will be artist talks, I believe.

Pretty sure I used the Bambara word for the outdoor hole-in-the-ground latrine for bathroom, which made it sound worse.
Shaggy's "It Wasn't Me" playing at the coffee shop I'm at and reminding me of the time my French and Bambara-speaking host family in Mali asked me to explain what the song was about
Mossy rocks and dog vomit #slimemold in upstate New York.
Frothy yellow blobs on an old tree stump Some mangy green rocks in a turgid stream, shaded by trees
Really thought this was an intentionally-created face every time I drove past it.

What happens if you don’t do background checks or training for thousands of people and you give them all total authority?

ICE has been caught looting and destroying property at Pittsburgh restaurants. They even tried to break into the safes. They loaded food, supplies and equipment into vehicles

Inexpensive retreat space in WV. I've stayed here and it's great.
