I want my phone to look cool vs. be readable, something @apple users have been battling since the new OS launched.

Now iOS 26.1 beta 4 adds a Liquid Glass menu that lets you choose how the effect appears.

Clear makes the layer more transparent so the content beneath shows through.

Today's @awscloud is a reminder of 2 things:

1) the internet is so centralized it's insane
2) sometimes you just have to do work locally or go touch grass for a day
Which AI apps have the best iOS widgets?

@claudeai @perplexity_ai @chatgptapp
First time not paying for ChatGPT Plus since Feb 2023. GPTs were a rug pull with no updates or monetization. Voice mode declined while Perplexity passed it. Got Enterprise through work. OpenAI seems focused on flooding the web with AI slop via Sora. Done.
POV: you work in tech now and they actually respond to tech requests in a timely manner

In the education world: this would never get approved AND if it did, it would take 14 messages in a thread and 5 meetings over 4 months
This note from a young person is better than any paycheck. Here's the lesson he & I have both learned:

If you aren't willing to climb Cringe Mountain™️, you will always be stuck at the bottom

I'm a big believer in "behaving your way into success"

It's easy to see what it takes to be success
I had no clue @figma had these gen AI image models built into FigJam

Not sure clip art & stock photos are necessary these days
This is a sign that your art style is awesome:

you build a web app that lets users create their own personas in your style @notion

and people actually use it
Your AI hype vocab word of the day is: "sloptimized"

Definition= unapologetically AI generated content that exists purely to occupy algorithmic attention spans

First VEO, now Sora. These tools exist and CAN do a lot of things. But what SHOULD we use them for?
OpenAI launched apps inside ChatGPT yesterday. The Figma integration is useful but also weird: you can now create FigJam files on mobile through ChatGPT…but not through Figma’s own mobile app.
POV: you have two separate agent tools tagging and managing your gmail inbox

There's no way they can peacefully co-exist
The iOS App Store is a great barometer for where culture is trending

And the current outlook is…interesting
You hear a lot about people having an AI-first mindset with their work. But what about building your websites and products to be AI-first?

Here's a good example: Having an open-in menu on your web page that allows users to take things directly to their LLM of choice or export the content as a ma
As much as I love @figma, I'm sticking with @canva for slides

Solely based on the remote presentation feature which lets you run slides, see notes, and do screen effects from your phone

Do any other presentation platforms have this feature?
My students need fewer Google Docs

And more @figma white board design challenges
POV: you're doing a @figma activity in class

and your students turn you into a meme
An underrated use of AI: repurpose content into different formats

A text-based time line only? No thanks!

Give me a @napkin_ai graphic to go with the text
After much reflection and contemplation, I have decided to prompt-inject my students essays with helpful prompts

Too many teachers try to hide instructions in white text to "catch" their students cheating with AI

I just want them to write better and understand the content, so I'm sneaking some
AI Avatar sub plans with @descriptapp are peak Gen AI use

Sprinkle in cringe slang your students use for extra effectiveness!
Ask & Learn is showing up on my free @youtube account for the first time

These are the kind of AI integrations that further reduce the importance of teachers as content knowledge experts

And reinforces the idea that we need teachers to be application of knowledge experts
You hide instructions in white font to derail students who copy & paste into AI

I hide prompts to help them get feedback from AI

We are not the same
Character limits on text posts are different across platforms

Re-writing captions is tedious

Which is why I made a Perplexity Space to do this for me (while retaining the key details & my authentic tone)

Pair this with Comet browser as a /command shortcut, and you have a fully automated pr
Have you tried live translation on AirPods Pro yet?

I put it to the test with ESL teachers & students.

It's a novel idea and futuristic feeling format for translation, but it is slow and Spain Spanish felt too formal for our group. Have you found a real-world use case for this?

Let me kno
There is a huge opportunity for anyone to become the AI person in any market if you can do one of these well:

-> What can AI do for XYZ industry?
-> What should you use AI for in XYZ industry?
-> Train my team to use AI for XYZ industry?
Creative format idea from one of my students:

Turn a historical event (Treaty of Versailles) into a live "tweet" style transcript

All students are creative, they just need the space to practice their creativity!
