Just a reminder that there's a better idea about what to do with the shuttered LTV/Erie plant site than putting NewRange/PolyMet's polluting copper-nickel sulfide mine proposal near it and dumping the toxic tailings in an unstable and leaky basin.

It was relatively common to have "half-breed tracts" set aside (the city of Keokuk, IA was once one) as the children of indigenous people and white settlers were not welcomed in either community.

This is a really interesting bipartisan initiative in Montana to effectively overturn the awful Citizens United decision. Corporations are creatures of state law and Minnesota should consider taking a similar approach to get corporate $ out of elections. corpgov.law.harvard.edu/2025/08/07/t....

A bipartisan team of former Montana officials have unveiled an oddly simple yet startlingly robust legal mechanism for undoing Citizens United that ...

Do you like Cheerios? Would you like Cheerios even more if they were made with Minnesota-grown oats? Join me and ask General Mills to buy Minnesota oats, which are both a healthy food & are good for water quality, reducing nitrate pollution of groundwater. www.mncenter.org/ask-general-...

Two more months of waiting for PolyMet to release the result of their "studies" and tell everyone what they want to do with their busted and repudiated 2018/2019 permits. But it's not a "delay!" That press release was just an estimate! (Seems important to remember when reading future press releases)

Yes, but you gotta wonder why LE is reacting completely differently in an adjacent county to the very same policy. Actually never mind, I know why.

Read more - here's a 2023 press release from Ramsey County detailing the cooperation between law enforcement and the positive results of ending the same stops that Hennepin County law enforcement claims are essential to stopping crime: www.ramseycounty.us/sites/defaul...

Law enforcement is freaking out about Hennepin County ending prosecutions from low-level traffic stops - claiming it will lead to a crime wave. But Ramsey County did the same thing 5 years ago, and huh, check the results. Crime is way down! Why is nobody talking about this?

The short answer is "not enough, yet." We will keep working on it! #water #ourwaterisourstrength

Since pro-fossil fuel political types love to cherry pick days with high levels of coal/gas in MISO, here's a reminder that we can get more than 75% of our electricity carbon free on good days.
isakkvam.bsky.social
Anyways, MISO as a whole is >50% carbon-free today. But in my neck of the woods, the MN/ND/SD subregion is about 62% wind and 14% nuclear, so >75% carbon-free.
