A big thing about people who think like this is that they don’t realize: learning how to be happy for other people is a HUGE step in the direction of learning how to be happy for yourself.

How that would help me? Because I already do that but the fact that I have nothing to celebrate myself make me just bitter in return

When I was a kid, our family had this blanket that could be converted into a sort of poncho. Think of it as the great-grandfather of the Snuggi. This reminds me a lot of that.

At some point, this lesson stopped being taught.
