Started PT (again) for my hip and t’s legit destroying me. 😭

I’m not suicidal, I just don’t know how much longer I can do this.

I have an appointment with a surgeon in a different health system on December 5th. I’m **really** hoping he’ll do the surgery. 🤞🏻

Well, the ER trip wasn’t a total waste. I learned that Robaxin — with a Norco chaser — actually gives me some pain relief.

Whew.

I also got a greater trochanteric bursa injection this week. Fingers crossed, it will help, too.

Currently ISO an orthopedic (hip) surgeon is SE Michigan who doesn’t use BMI as their sole disqualifier for surgery.

Any leads would be appreciated. Mine just told me to lose 100-150 lbs, which is patently ridiculous and highly unlikely to ever happen.

Went to the ER and, as predicted, sat for hours, cried during the x-rays, and ultimately got no relief. No pain meds to help with the increased pain, just muscle relaxers to hopefully stop the spasms.

My body sucks.

Oh. And the pharmacy doesn’t open for 4 more hours. 🤬

Exciting development with my hip. Now I’m getting muscle spasms that are worse than the “normal” pain.

I’ve been debating going to the ER, but know they’ll just leave me sitting for hours because no one takes pain seriously.

The opioid crisis is definitely real, but that doesn’t mean opioids and other pain control medications don’t have a legitimate role to play in patient care.

Without my pain meds my quality of life is ZERO. Even with pain meds I have days where it feels like I can’t go on.

I’ve noticed a lot more strands of hair on my clothes and whatnot. I attributed it to it falling out due to stress. I was wrong. I just caught myself pulling on a handful of my hair as a pain distraction. Just what I need, one more problem. 🙄

PM&R doc says it’s greater trochanteric pain syndrome (GTPS).

He thinks the hip injection didn’t work — or feels like it didn’t — because the pain is coming from a different place.

He’s going to give me an injection is a different spot, but can’t do it until November because of the other shot. 😭
