Sen. Dan Sullivan and Rep. Nick Begich voted to cut public media funding the same week Alaska public radio stations were critical in sharing emergency information after a magnitude 7.3 earthquake in Southwest Alaska.

Sullivan votes in favor of rescinding federal funding for public media, including 27 Alaska radio stations

Sullivan’s spokesperson said Thursday evening that 11 out of Alaska’s 27 public radio outlets would be eligible for some funding meant for “Native stations.”
