Of the Canadians detained during this period, some 44 per cent had no criminal records or pending charges against them, The Globe has found. The detainees include four children ranging in age from under two years old to about 16 years old.

There is a memorial to the 14 women slain in Montreal on Dec 6, 1989 by the beach here. It’s been well-visited of late.

So proud of #NovaScotia and also #Manitoba since they are following Nova Scotia’s lead. Come on #Ontario let’s join them. I’m talking to you #DougFord! 🫵
Nova Scotia is taking the fight to MAGA.
Last March they pulled all the booze off the shelves. Now they are selling it all off in a Xmas firesale-with proceeds going to the food bank.
And then they are done with US purchases.

In 1989, Marc Lépine killed 14 female engineering students at Montreal's École Polytechnique.

Canada established December 6 as the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women, urging action against gender-based violence.

It surrounds us still. Never forget.

One of my nieces just graduated in mechanical engineering.
On this day 36 years ago, 14 people died at a Montreal university because some fragile fucking man couldn’t handle a woman “taking his place” in the engineering program.

Male rage isn’t a new problem. Entitled men aren’t a new problem.

And women are entitled to every ounce of anger we carry.

This is a great advertisement for the Food Banks of Canada. Absolutely terrific marketing.

I’m just “Let’s Fucking GO!” the whole way through and then I see the final shot.

Great messaging and vibe-making.
