Traveling during light rain in the area of Panguich, Utah, we saw brilliant splashes of fall colors along the way.
This stand of Cottonwoods stood out between a lake and endless sage… so nice to see this fly by your window!

It was fun, nothing difficult.
My daughter and I both drove a complete up/down round trip.
We had the great fortune of a Swiss family taking video of us driving and then waiting to share the video 🤗🙏!

A blue morning after overnight rain.
Looking over Marble Canyon and the Colorado River toward the Kaibito Plateau in the cloudy distance.
The Navajo call this
Baaj Nwaavjo I’tah Kukveni, ancestral footprints of the Grand Canyon.

Well, my friend, without having seen your photo first, I wouldn’t have been here 😊🫶🤗🙏!

A side canyon gives us a glimpse of the Colorado River below as we were approaching the Shafer Trail from down canyon on a Jeep trail.
The river turns clear once it loses its sediment in Lake Powell, below Glen Canyon Dam.

Thank you Bee 🐝🙏!
Easy photos… right from the terrace at the visitor center.
Seems like this place is universally popular, we heard at least seven or eight different languages 🤗!

It was very impressive Manel.
The trail constantly changes your view at every hairpin turn, all of them great!
Cloudy conditions helped, nothing was in the shade!
Next time, I will spend at least five days in Moab.

A view from the car window about half way up the Shafer trail.
Light rain was great for colorful photos… not so great for driving the slightly slippery trails!

#MokiDugway
My daughter is driving our family SUV up the Moki Dugway, a stretch of steep, unpaved switchbacks that is actually part of Utah State Highway 261 near Mexican Hat.

Thank you Javier 🙏!
It should be on everyone’s
bucket list to visit.
I’ve been there five times and still find it fascinating and interesting every time I visit.

On the way to Oatman, Arizona, on Route 66, a family of donkeys blocked the road with daddy donkey coming up to my window, on lower left, to collect the toll and allow us to continue driving!
It cost us several carrots 😂!

It was a great trip and we saw tons of beautiful scenery!
There was so much more to explore, but we only had a week to spend.
Canyon de Chelly had difficult lighting, and sadly we didn’t have time to get back the next day.
