Yeah, I got a PS5 code sent through, I'll probably pick it up again when the proper version comes out. Enjoying it so far though. iRacing have done a decent job.

Painkiller

DOOM Eternal meets Vermintide 2. Not sure how I feel about that, perfectly playable mind. Something about the visuals rubbed me up the wrong way, too. It's got that awful trademark UE5 look to it that's both overly sharp & soft at once.

The new NASCAR game is actually kind of alright.

Tbf I don't remember being able to find games on it when it was a current game.

TimeSplitters: Future Perfect, Xbox
Free Radical Design, 2005

It's an absolute travesty that the TimeSplitters license has lay dormant for nearly 20 years. Embracer can do one for closing Free Radical again last year, torpedoing the new game that was reportedly in the works.

Metroid Zero Mission, GameBoy Advance
Nintendo R&D1, 2004

Quite possibly my favourite remake. Metroid Zero Mission took the original game and brought it up to modern standards and created a masterpiece.

Earth vs Mars

It's Advance Wars, but with a Mars Attacks, War of the Worlds kind of vibe to it. Thoroughly enjoyed the demo.

Calyx

An interesting RTS with the primary antagonist being a lifeform that rapidly spreads across the planet, meaning that territory needs to be constantly controlled. UI needs some work, but it's looking promising.

iRacing Arcade

Not something I ever expected iRacing to put out. Demo is a bit insubstantial, only one race at one track, Tsukuba. Not un-fun though. I'll no doubt be getting it when it releases.

Going to do a thread for the stuff I've checked out in #SteamNExtFest so far.

It arguably still was until the Game Pass price increase.

Part of me feels like the Series S would have fit that niche nicely if M$ weren't so inept these days.

That is definitely a strange combination. I'll check it out, thanks.

No idea. It's been a theme for the last decade though, servers going down, seemingly taken offline, then randomly coming back. True Achievements/Trophies is a decent place to track this stuff, the userbase is pretty on it when it comes to tracking what's up and what isn't.

#SteamNextFest is a thing again. What cool shit is there to download this time around?
6thgenbliss.bsky.social
They're back down again it seems, that sucks.
6thgenbliss.bsky.social
They came back earlier this year, apparently. 360 and GFWL stuff is definitely still around. No-one playing of course, but you can get people together and get some games going. I'm going to test the PS3 now.
