I made my first really and truly new card tonight. I’m going to get all the archival images out of the way on the bingo account before I start sharing new ones, but here’s a sneak peek.

I keep a playlist of lossless audio on my phone, about 1,200 songs I consider favorites/inspirational to my own writing. I’ve been honing it for 7-8 years, and I still stumble across songs that make me ask “how did I forget to add that??”

I’ve written my first-ever artist statement, which will stay pinned to the top of the profile to help explain what it’s about.

For those who’ve asked, I’ve set up an account to chronicle the bingo card project instead of flooding my feed here. Please follow @b-i-n-g-o.bsky.social if you’re curious.

Before this evening, the last bingo card I made was in July, 2006. Now I’ve made a new one. This is a step forward considering just last week said I felt “divorced from my own creativity.”

Tickets secured: Cabaret Voltaire in May, Human League in June.

Revisiting the bingo card project has been fun. Series 1 is 75 images, all complete. I did have to rebuild 2 cards, but kept them in the spirit of the originals, they’re just cleaner now, and hi-res (one was shared as an animated gif at the time).

Watching Robert Altman’s Vincent & Theo, with Tim Roth playing Vincent Van Gogh. It’s one of my favorite art house films.

Blue, on Market St., in the heart of the Castro. Comfort food such as mac and cheese, tuna noodle casserole, and sloppy Joes with tater tots. Everything was done perfectly, and not fussy. They closed in 2012.

please tell me about your favorite lost restaurant (closed for at least 5 years, like I really want you to go back into the vault), why you loved it and what you ate there

@3dbill.bsky.social asked if I’d make more, which really interests me. What would 55-year old me have to say about something 34-year old me brought up at the time? Picking this project back up after a gap of two decades is a wild idea.
As I sort, catalog, and prep the bingo card project to share online, here’s something I wasn’t prepared for: being confronted with an image of the couple I moved in with 2003 for a short-lived relationship that failed. A combination of pain and embarrassment has kept them out of mind for 22 years.

As more people have asked, what’s the best way for me to share the bingo project? They’ve not been publicly available since about 2014. A dedicated Bluesky account? Instagram? Both? An option I’m not yet aware of? I’m talking basic image sharing with minimal commentary.

A dumb stand-up comedy bit which has lived in my head since 1990…a young man is going door to door soliciting donations for charity, without fully understanding his mission. He tells one lady that UNICEF is like a unicorn, “and they need your money to buy hats.”

Bunnyhop issue 5, “The Yearbook Issue,” 1995. There’s a great interview with Daniel Clowes, and these 2 comics have lived rent-free in my head for 30 years.

I have a snippet of a song in my head that I can’t identify, and it’s driving me crazy. Literally humming it to myself for an hour, doing process of elimination to try and figure out the song and artist.

If we ever have another free and fair election that sees these criminals swept out of office (and into prison), I hope we get a leader who uses straight, plain talk and doesn’t pull punches about the rampant stupidity and misinformation in America. It’s time for these morons to face hard truths.

I’m perplexed that “Cool Cat” from Queen’s 1982 album Hot Space is now popping up in reels. I’ve heard it 3 times in 24 hours.

Today I got to hear @naylandblake.bsky.social speak about their new book My Studio Is A Dungeon Is The Studio. Nayland's work is an intersection of both their queer identity, their art, and their experience in kink spaces - all of which are the same, in their own opinion. It was a fantastic talk.

My *actual* favorite video is Madonna’s “Vogue,” but this is my *most important* video. New Order was on my radar, but seeing this one afternoon in October 1986 is what lead to a lifelong obsession.
