The spot was filmed in rural Ontario, although not quite near Thunder Bay. That said, the location was chosen for its similarities to that infamous stretch of highway.

Probably doesn't get mentioned enough that the player who played the most games for City last season was Julian Alvarez (52 MP) and they just decided that replacing him with Gundogan, the ghost of Divin Mubama and a recalled McAtee was sufficient to replicate that energy, quality and availability.

Tensions were released.
Hope was renewed.

Before the game, the captain had assured us that if we got back on the bus, we wouldn’t be left stranded.

That day, 40M 🇦🇷s hopped back on and settled in for the ride.

Were inappropriate things said? Yes.
Did I cry? Yes.
Was all the tension released? Almost.

It wouldn’t be until the 86’, when Enzo received the ball from Messi at the corner, and did a beautiful step over before dipping his shoulder and slotting it into the top corner that the release would come.

Watching the World Cup in a country that isn’t your own means you’re always in hostile territory…and I was watching this particular game at a Mexican household.

So as Messi placed that impossible shot into that impossible corner, I did the only decent thing I could: I ran out of the room to scream.

It was tense.

Really tense.

We had lost the opening match against Saudi in a horrific upset that had shattered our confidence and resurrected ghosts from the past.

And the first half had been just as mediocre.

It seemed like we were destined for another failure of epic proportions until…

Terry hadn’t spoken publicly about his soccer career in decades, and I had to go through the Band Office of the Sts’ailes First Nation to get his contact info.

A hugely important football shirt design here from Macron for Levante UD. Goes to show how these poignant stories can be told through fabric and football!

The shirts were designed to look like they were stained with mud of the volunteer's clothing who helped the victims of the flooding in Valencia.
