Our long time friend @batmanofsanjose.bsky.social has friends who were displaced from Columbus Park. Many need help securing daily necessities & items needed for survival. Let’s bring items they have requested from this list:

Health/sanitation:
- Travel-sized hygiene products: shampoo, soap, washcloth, brush, comb, toothbrush, toothpaste, razor, wipes;
- Hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes;
- First aid kits (small and medium);
- Sunscreen;
- Insect repellent;
- Menstrual products;
- Toilet paper;
- Water;
- Garbage bags (combo of heavier duty construction bags and generic).

Mobility/Communication Items:
- Portable phone battery banks;
- Phone chargers;
- Solar phone chargers/banks;
- Bike repair kits and spare tubes;
- Foldable shopping carts for transport;
- Waterproof document folders for important papers.

Today is George Perry Floyd Jr.’s birthday. He was a father & son, who loved & was loved by his family. An ordinary man who struggled under systemic racism & poverty. He did not deserve to die and today and every October 14th, we will remember his legacy and fight the injustices that took his life.
