Fan of all eras of Pittsburgh baseball history. Posts likely on the really old, replies and reposts all over the place. This account is run, for better or worse, by SABR member Andy Terrick.

Figure I'd repost this on the anniversary. The run that didn't count.

Max Carey crossing home plate during a rainy Game 7 of the 1925 World Series at Forbes Field.

Carey was sent back to third after it was determined that Kiki Cuyler’s 8th inning go-ahead blast was a ground rule double and not a home run.

I vaguely recall wondering why the DVD of the game didn't have the whole event from the Byham as a bonus. Think it's been replayed on MLB Network, but still never seen anything much more than clips.
This YouTube page has four videos with most of the chatter, I believe.

Yeah, but who cares about 'facts' in this day and age?
19thcenturybucs.bsky.social
Oh, man, I'd be happy with that. I'll check if I have any '87 Bos sitting around to send to you.
19thcenturybucs.bsky.social
Seconded.

It would look great in the Jackie Robinson museum, but there's also a very good chance it would sit in the place 's storage unit not even seeing the light of day

I thought you might be trying to collect the set via sealed rack packs, which would be quite the grat, since only 5 are showing in each.

Serious in that I only need one.

Bo hunting? Remember your friends if you come across a plethora of Sammy Khalifas.

In '25? Eddie Moore launched a home run into the jubilant Forbes Field crowd that paved the way for the Bucs to win. One more to go. 🤣🤣

Was looking for local TV news coverage online of today's anniversary celebration. I'm sure it'll be out there eventually, but struck out thus far.

Although, I do see there are other important matters...

All set up for the '60 World Series Game 7 radio rebroadcast, even a hot dog stand.

If you're going to the Forbes Field wall today and wanna say hi, I'll be rocking my Homefield Cathedral of Learning shirt in honor of this pic.

Though I may have a hoodie on to completely nullify that, which would be completely fitting for someone as socially awkward as myself.

I was back out here earlier today,. It was the anniversary of:
A) 1909 World Series Game 1
B) 1925 World Series Game 2
Will be back in a few days, thinking about the centennial of Eddie Moore's famous home run in Game 6 of the 1925 World Series. Which always gets overshadowed.
