Unfortunately, they're not that close. It's true that Cody stayed with him when he had an anxiety attack (and even slept in the same tent as him), and Hoshi is constantly looking out for Cody. But they have never had a heart to heart conversation

I also hope they'll get through this situation :(

It's a long story 🚬

Basically, he saw 2 of his companions die in front of his eyes (and couldn't help them), had to use 1 of their corpses to escape,was willing to undergo Inquisition interrogation to save a friend, ran for his life severely wounded while carrying Cody, & is now at the enemy's lair

I don't think he's ever noticed, but he treats his "son" with the same harshness that his father treated him with. And even though it's true that his "son" is linked to the "curse" and that he never asked for it, Hoshi could have learnt more about it and about his "son"

Yeah, I agree. As an older brother, I can assure you sibling relationships are difficult more often than not. But there are other times in which you're glad you have a sibling

I've actually never finished reading any book from Brandon Sanderson because I don't like his writing style, though I started reading Elantris once. But my friends really enjoy The Stormlight Archive

Yup, that entity has lived inside him for 10 years. And even though he's only cared for Hoshi's well-being, Hoshi has been pretty cruel to him (calling him a parasite, only calling him when he needed help, telling him that "he had no son")
