I'm new! I'm the Dir of Choirs at Oregon State University. I'm always looking for community in music, politics, higher ed, sports, and generally intelligent talk about anything. I enjoyed many of the younger composers, musicologists, and theorists who seemed to be on Twitter, or at least they were.

We are going to see a 12-15 percent reduction in student attendance, and couple that with a desire for fewer international students during the next 3 years, we are likely to see some failed colleges, and lots of schools doing big program cuts.

Additionally, it is the 12th year that OSU is the largest university in the state.

We have just entered the beginning of the enrollment cliff. The next five years are going to be very challenging for all institutions of higher education.

A reminder to all my fellow Beavers down because of football, that OSU is far more than just an athletic team. Congratulations to all involved on the 29th consecutive year of growth. The only R1 school in the country with such a record of sustained growth.
