if you want to have a conversation about publishing guidance on wearing a helmet while walking, i'd be happy to. but that's a different conversation.

you see in science and medicine we have to control for variables to answer questions with any degree of accuracy

now we aren't talking about evaluating the recommendation for helmets while walking. that's an entirely separate set of data. different populations. different circumstances. different rates for motor vehicle collisions.

the number you cited looks solely at a single metric and does not calculate the burden of wearing a helmet as a pedestrian (as the average person spends a disproportionately larger percentage of their time walking vs riding a bicycle)
