the democratic party’s basic problem is it has almost no control over how its message reaches the ears of voters, especially outside of presidential election years. but rather than devote serious time, attention and cash to that problem its consultants and pundits want to fight factional battles
This is great! It's a good thing! We pay taxes. The government spends that money on things we need and want that the market doesn't incentivize on its own. We get those things, and we also get the economic activity from everyone involved in making those things happen. It's extremely win-win!
The military industrial complex pays engineers to design weapon systems and factory workers to build them. They too are spending their money in the American economy. This isn't to endorse the MIC, but to show that all government spending has the same effect - most of it goes into the economy
SNAP recipients use their EBT cards at supermarkets and other food stores. The stores receive the funds and use that to pay their employees and buy more food to sell. The employees spend their money in the American economy. The farms and food producers spend their money on materials and employees
Universities aren't sitting on grant money like a goblin treasure hoard. They spend it on professors, researchers, administration, and materials. The people spend their money in the American economy. They work in structures built by American companies. They buy their lunches from other Americans
Something more people need to internalize is that the money government spends doesn't stop at the recipient

Government agencies are full of Americans who live in American homes and spend their money at American stores. This applies to all kinds of government employees from janitors to generals

Our military is being paid by an anonymous donor.

Our WH East Wing was demolished for a ballroom - paid for by donors.

These aren’t acts of benevolence or patriotism.

This is the oligarchy assuming control, insidiously becoming part of how we function.

Every American should reject it.

ordinary americans are filming ice agents and trying to save their neighbors. for all the hemming and hawing during 2024 about how democracy was an elite concern, the elites gave up far more quickly than average people.

Corruption loves corruption
Good question. The uneven and inconsistent application could be an indicator that the process is done quickly

But maybe it's a daily ritual he cares about a lot, so he really puts in the time
Exactly! It's inconsistent in color and application. Sometimes it manages to look reasonable, sometimes it looks like he put it on while blindfolded

Who makes the makeup? Is the color inconsistent, or does the amount applied vary?

You'd think by now he'd have a jig to help with the ear lines
That's part of why I'm curious. It's not the same every day, there's variance. The hair / ear line shifts.

It doesn't really feel like it's professionally applied, does it?

Does he put it on himself?
Have pictures or video ever been made public of the process of applying the orange to his face each day?

I want to know how it happens

It wasn’t some normal user that posted that diarrhea bombing A.I., to be rightfully shamed for being insulting. It was the President of the United States of America. That’s what he thinks of working Americans. That’s his level of concern for the dignity of his office.

utterly depressing that Nixon-level scandals are now a normal Friday night news drop, barely remarked upon, just another day in Trump’s America
Two more career prosecutors fired for refusing to indict NY AG Letitia James because they could not find probable cause to charge her. 🎁

I've added a strip of gorilla tape to reinforce where the flag is pinned to the costume, hopefully that will be sufficient to avoid tearing

Also replaced the yellow masking tape with yellow duck tape because the masking tape was not holding to the costume material very well at all
Bridge. I have on-call responsibilities that will prevent me attending the Shepherdstown event
The flag is 5 feet long. With my own height, the costume is about 7.5 feet tall. Attached as in the photo, I end up with about 1.5-2 feet of ground clearance for the flag

I'm somewhat worried about wind. A gust could pull at the safety pins enough to tear the costume's fabric
