Because @hanmonster.bsky.social was already bombarding folks inboxes, I'm gonna further that with a piece I haven't re-posted here from The Bad Site that I'm STILL super proud of getting from them!

And the above bullshit is literally due to a single company sniping a patent after USB 2.0 came out that included mandatory 'bridging' from USB 1.1 devices to USB 2.0 speeds, specifically covering bridging USB 2.0 speeds to higher speeds so USB 3.0 is actually USB 2.0 + USB 3.0 pins now.

Like it'll still REGISTER as existing, but it only exposes the interfaces for iTunes on the USB 3.x pins, same thing happens with my PSVR2 headset. It'll "boop" on a USB 2.x port, but only USB 3.x lets it work.

iDevices can hate being plugged into USB 2.x ports (the white ones) which some new PCs still have like landmines. Make sure it's a 'colored' USB port (blue, red, etc) if possible.

It may come across as a meme because they've been the "I'm sick of printer headaches... what do I get!?" answer for so many years, but their B&W laser printers are seriously just that simple, reliable, and economical. XD
