We are educated to believe in the capitalistic game. My adult life has been a neoliberal hell, constantly under austerity, privatization and of course, the free market economy. None of it is democratic.

I hope your son hasn’t experienced any climate related events. We burned, but survived (barely) in the Adams Lake Bush Creek wildfire of 2023. My community is still dealing with the aftermath. The fire season is becoming a full year event.

Good. We have to end FFs now. Canada‘s literally on fire every summer. Economy? What economy? The lack of climate mitigation is going to kill the “economy”. Projections estimated that uninsured costs will reduce GDP growth by $25 billion (2025). In 2024, there was an additional $9.1 billion (2024).
