I was just telling a friend a few days ago how The Turn of the Screw is one of my favorite ghost stories, so maybe this is a good reason to re-read it.

The thesis of the paper was that having such rigid and specific roles in his household and society were contributors to anxiety in situations where he found himself outside them (such as being surrounded by strangers) vs. when he's in them (as he's described by his housekeeper, for example).

I love the story of Dracula. I HATE (re)reading the novel Dracula. There’s a reason why Dracula is the only work he’s remembered for (it’s because he’s not a good writer).
