They could have gone in so many directions - dangerous seems a bit too obvious. Young, violent and empathetic? Young, violent and generally benevolent? Young, violent and dreamy?

Given that he's violent, we can probably take it as read that he's dangerous.

What a wonderful episode - I've laughed and learned! I've also been saving up hearing Don't Stand Me Down for the first time until I heard @giddypoppod.bsky.social on the subject, and now I can't bloody wait! But in the interests of dressing appropriately while I do it, I'm off to buy a nice suit.

Professional Monkey making a Realisation at Work
A sort of half alive half toy half person monkey, delicate reddish drawing. Mouth open in a sort of realisation expression, wiggly explory lines
That calypso album is absolutely brilliant and odd. You will not regret listening, I guarantee.
Happy belated birthday to Jo!
A classic of the genre. "Be-deee-ddee-deebo"
Saving Linda until almost the end.
The final Bowie cover of the morning and this one has added "Freddie" thrown in too
Great LP, I have this too. That Jam cover is hilarious, a few made up lyrics in there.
What a great Hawkwind cover this is!!
Is she singing "gonna use my sausage?"

He made a couple! I already had his Calypso album (which is amazing!) on CD but nice to have That Man Mitchum Sings on record
L'il Beethoven from 2004 on CD. A good find for a fiver!
The first time in my life the person at the record shop has said "That's quite an eclectic mix" when I've taken my haul to the counter. The Virgin Prunes debut EPs reissue, a Robert Mitchum LP & CDs by Sparks and Hawkwind. Oh, and some Beatles socks.
Not too proud to say it put a spring in my step.

40 years and 1 day ago, this issue of Smash Hits came out. And about 5 years and 4 months ago we talked to @juliehamill.bsky.social about it.

I can testify that this is delicious
Finally finished playing Disco Elysium this evening. I'll miss it. It was the most original, odd, playful and unhinged game I've played in many years. Great music too, from Sea Power.

“You described Reform and other parties across Europe today as among the 'right wing equivalents of the fascists in the 1930s'. Why?”

“Because that’s what they are”

This is the maddest tour I've ever seen in my life. It seems like he's doing more gigs than there are days in the year.
A quite insane tour schedule
