I'm reminded that at one time KGOU (University of Oklahoma) was a commercial rock radio station ... until it was turned over to what was then known as the College of Continuing Education and turned into a noncommercial NPR outlet, effective 01.01.1983. It had been on the air since 1970.

Today was National College Radio Day

Cleveland State University celebrated by killing WCSB, its college radio station, and transferring the license to Ideastream to broadcast smooth jazz.
