Knights of the Last Call has a nearly 5-hour deep dive into 13th Age 2E. Insightful, funny, and full of sharp takes for fans old and new. A great watch for anyone curious about the game. #13thAge #TTRPG

Yup. I met him a couple of times. He was a staple of Wisconsin gaming.

For #IndigenousPeoplesDay, enjoy this thread of past articles wherein I put a Native lens to pop culture.

Always grateful for @io9dotcom.bsky.social letting me talk about Tusken Raiders in #StarWars and how they evolved in The Book of Boba Fett:

The latest Disney+ Star Wars series went to great lengths to infuse its Tusken tribe with influences from real-world Indigenous cultures.

You’re welcome. Thank you for such a great book. I have a list of more books on the topic slated for acquisition, but need to get a couple of more books off of my stack before I do so 😂

Terribly sad to hear of the passing of @robowieland.bsky.social - he was a great part of the gaming community.

I studied his martial art for over a decade. Have made the pilgrimage to his grave a couple of times.

If you’re running for office in the U.S. and this is one of your campaign promises, odds are you have my vote.

We have armed secret police kidnapping people off the street based on the color of their skin.

When we win: we will haul them before a Senate committee. The masks will come off. There will be consequences.

That’s happening in Star Wars too. The people making Star Wars the last 10 years love Star Wars. And it’s breaking people’s brains somehow.

Dahlia needed feeding as she was neglected too. Particularly after resurrecting her from the dead (I.e. starting over because I killed my last starter. Kill killed 😂). So used some of the discard to make pancakes. And fed her and she’s on the counter getting happy.

That sounds delicious. I could trade sourdough pancakes.

The first one. For some people it was Star Wars that opened their imagination, for me it was seeing Tron for the first time. I’ll see the new one eventually (and will assuredly enjoy it). Book is Jungle Commandos about the British in Burma focusing on the final campaign at the end of 1944 into 1945.

and will take the opportunity to learn more about it. Plus I found, though I need to get and play, at least one Advanced Squad Leader scenario based on the battle of Hill 170. But need to explore more opportunities to play the game in Burma. @multimanpublishing.bsky.social

Finished Jungle Commandos - The Battle for Arakan, Burma 1945 by @lmbd1418.bsky.social on a lovely, rare cool morning in NOLA. It was fantastic. As a student of Japanese history, I knew almost nothing about what took place in Burma. Now I feel the door has been opened and ….

It’s great advice and one I’ve seen before. You need to have a portfolio and personality that people want to work with that gives people trust you will do the IP justice. Granted some people will just be lucky.
