I think he did more than Gollum because he was able to let go of it and pass it on to Frodo.

As for Boromir, that was only in the movie, in never happened in the books.

What I like most about Tolkien is that there is lots of room for interpretation. Everyone’s experience is different.

Well, there’s ground for argument but Tolkien seemed to reserve the title of “Ring-bearer” to Frodo and Sam only. So I guess that leaves Bilbo out 😆
