They claimed they knew what they were voting for and refused to admit they were voting against their own interests.

Governments are elected on a number of manifesto promises, nothing in the Labour manifesto said anything about rejoining the EU.

But the millionaire that bought farms to avoid taxes still won’t be happy. Sooner the price of farm land drops the better for everyone

I have an EV. You really believe that the cost of fuel doesn’t push inflation up, shows how much you know.

Most right wing politicians have the same playbook

You understand putting duty on fuel increases the price of goods and public services as they use fuel to deliver all the food, goods and public transport.

As always Badenoch thinks she has set the bear traps for Starmer, then goes stumbling into them like some cartoon character, it’s like her advisors are setting her up.

Hahahaha holy crap Starmer is obliterating Badenoch who is flying into narcissistic rage as he reads out her embarrassing past comments saying that "we should stop describing China as a foe or threat".

This is a significant PMQs.

14 years of managed destruction and laziness all because labours fault the minute they took office. The tories were blaming Labour from 2010 for their failures until 2024. It is the conservatives way, do nothing and blame everyone else for failure

Tories failed to update the law, taking eight years to do so, which meant the China spying case failed.

Yet Badenoch keeps blaming Labour.

Digital ID

In the EU Regulation (EU) 2024/1183 establishes a digital identity system for the EU & requires provision of an EU Digital Identity Wallet by member states.

Pretty much what the UK's digitial wallet & digital ID does for us - something we will need if we're ever to rejoin the EU.
Regulation (EU) 2024/1183, also known as the European Digital Identity Framework, establishes a digital identity system for EU citizens, residents, and businesses. The core of the regulation is the mandatory provision of an EU Digital Identity Wallet by member states, giving individuals sole control over their digital identity and data. This framework aims to enable secure, seamless, and trusted access to both public and private digital services across borders.
Key aspects of the regulation
EU Digital Identity Wallet: This is the central component of the new framework. Citizens will have a digital wallet that allows them to store and share personal data and documents securely.
User control: The regulation is built on the principle that every individual has the right to control their digital identity, ensuring their data is not controlled by third parties.
Cross-border access: It provides a legal basis for EU member states to recognize each other's electronic identification means and digital identity wallets. This will allow for the seamless and secure use of digital services across the EU, such as online banking, public services, and social benefits.
Trust services: The regulation also updates and expands the legal framework for various trust services, such as electronic signatures, seals, registered delivery services, and website authentication certificates.
New trust services: It introduces new trust services like the electronic attestation of attributes and the electronic archiving of electronic documents.
Implementation timeline: The regulation entered into force on May 20, 2024. Member states are required to provide EU Digital Identity Wallets to their citizens within 24 months of the adoption of the relevant implementing acts, which were adopted on November 28, 2024. Purpose and impact
Simplified access: The framework is designed to simplify and streamline access to digital services for all users, whether they are public or private.
Increased security: It aims to enhance security and confidence in digital interactions, reducing the risk of identity theft and fraud.
Support for the digital economy: By providing a standardized and secure digital identity framework, it aims to foster innovation and competition within the EU's digital economy.
Privacy-preserving: The regulation emphasizes privacy-preserving digital identification, giving users control over which data they share with service providers.

I said when it was announced it was part of the alignment with the EU process. Statements from the government over the last few weeks are very anti Brexit. IMO the tide has turned and steps are being taken to move towards joining the CU and SM

Digital ID

This is Adam - a dual UK-Estonia national.

He has been using digital ID in Estonia for almost a quarter of a century.

He tells us about some of the benefits of digital ID.

Great video of someone's personal experiences with it, put out by the government via the DSIT.

People need to know that the “will of the people” is costing them. With reform and the MSM still very much on the “reversing Brexit is anti democratic” bandwagon, the hearts and minds need to be won over first. This is all part of a process.

Never said they don’t. Pylons are cheaper to install, maintain and less likely to be damaged. Underground cables, especially on farm land, are commonly damaged.

Just because some people don’t like the look of pylons doesn’t make a good argument for using underground cables.

I am seeing more about how the investment in AI is not sustainable, the cost of GPUs and the lack of security causing more problems and data loss. Are you hearing that from customers?
westy44.bsky.social
The first steps of rehabilitation are recognition of the problem, in the last few months the government has started saying Brexit is the cause of many of our problems, this is a big step in the process to moving towards the SM, CU and eventually back into the EU. It will take time.

Off that capitalist who champion free trade and market economy are getting upset at china taking choices about who they trade with.

They call him dull because he’s competent, intelligent and statesman like. Everything the tories lack
westy44.bsky.social
Because digging up the land to run the cables underground is cheaper, less disruption and more efficient?

Didnt think so.
