Andy Muschietti Explains ‘The Flash’ Failure: People “Talk Sh*t & Jump On Bandwagons” But Remains “Proud” Of Film [Interview]
From an upcoming edition of our “Bingeworthy” podcast, where director Andy Muschietti was on to discuss “IT: Welcome To Derry,” the creative reflected on his big run at the superhero genre with “The Flash” and commented on the film’s failure. As the ambitious project sadly came at a weird time, as the Snyderverse was winding down (ahead of the DCU reset spearheaded by the newly formed DC Studios), and Ezra Miller‘s bizarre off-set behavior/legal issues overshadowed the production, morphing into a “publicity crisis.”
Along with briefly commenting on how anger-based bandwagons can have a negative impact, even if they don’t know what they’re talking about and haven’t even experienced the film they’re mad at, as it can be misdirected (alluding to Miller’s backlash being imprinted on the film and studio due to their headline-grabbing antics).
