Hate the argument of "Well you can boycott for now, but soon every game studio is going to use genAI and you won't be able to tell or avoid it anymore!!"

dude there are already more videogames in existence than I'm ever going to be able to play in my lifetime. this boycott shit is easy.
That's the forbidden technique!!!

The government shutdown has put SNAP benefits at risk for millions of Americans. Travis Peters, an urban farmer in Detroit, is giving out free produce tomorrow

'If it's getting tight, my food is free. Don’t even sweat that'
As SNAP benefits come under threat, a Detroit farmer is stepping up to help fill the void
The federal shutdown has put SNAP benefits at risk for millions of Americans. Urban farmers like Travis Peters are stepping up to ensure their communities can eat.

Backed by the Heritage Foundation and Big Tech, KOSA will force everyone to upload their ID to access the internet. In an age when Palantir has direct ties to ICE, where technofascists are in power and want to eliminate and censor everything, we CANNOT allow KOSA to pass.

It NEEDS mass pushback.
🚨‼️As of yesterday KOSA is at 64 cosponsors with @vanhollen.senate.gov + @kim.senate.gov - who claim to support LGTBQ+ rights but are clearly okay with supporting legislation that’ll censor us off the internet- newly signed on.

25. Hades 2 (Game)
It be more Hades.
But really, it does have its own flavor to make it feel similar but it's own thing. Though, you should play 1 before this. Tons of replay value and I do think this has more challenge. My only major negative is the story is much weaker than the first game.
I've loved this pokemon since Gen 3 because of the ballroom dress kind of look she had is always cool for a psychic type.

And then the internet had to make it weird...

I forgot who the post was from originally but it was something like:

players are always correct about whether or not they're having fun

they're sometimes correct about the cause

they're NEVER correct about the solution
One of the most important jobs of a designer is understanding that there are some things that everyone says they want, but then absolutely hate if they get it

Y’all, Spotify’s stock price sunk by 5% in 1 day. YOU did this by spreading the word to boycott them for running ICE ads.

These billionaires only speak one language—money—so let’s keep up the pressure. Tell everyone you know to cancel their Spotify subscriptions. Send them to BoycottSpotify.com.
I guess it does go back to an overall problem I feel where for the past decade, games that don't really need remakes get them in spades while games that could benefit from another round just get left in the dust.
But man...I didn't think it was this dire.
The amount of responses I got where the best remakes people could think of were based on nostalgia, the game just being re-released, or just a coat of paint with very little quality of life updates is...saddening to say the least.
Since it's been a hot topic as of late.

And I'm talking about the kind that brought out the full potential of the original game or opened your eyes to it that you didn't see with the original.
Kirby Super Star Ultra.
I feel this is another remake that really brought out the games full potential by all the small tweaks to controls, a better art style, and all the new modes are the highlights of the game. I just can't go back to the OG game anymore.

Sonic CD (Christian Whitehead Ver).
I didn't have a high opinion of CD before this. But the changes to the physics, the added widescreen, improved frame rate, additions of both soundtracks and a playable Tails, I feel there is no need to go back to the original release when this port is a thing.
I'll start off with one of my favs.
Fire Emblem Echoes Shadows of Valentia.
A remake of FE Gaiden, this not only added a lot more depth to the cast, but it kept all the unique elements of the OG game while still bringing it up to date. Frankly, an ideal remake situation for me.

So let me get this straight.
This Halo remake is:

Remake of a remake,
AI bullshit everywhere,
Radiates "Microsoft Hire This Man"energy
doesn't even have co-op,

...who the fuck wants this?
Also the big elephant in the room that they are using AI in every single part of development for this from the sounds of it is big old hell no for me.

The only truly ethical response that a self-described artist can make. Anything else is a betrayal of one's colleagues.
“I am not interested, nor will I ever be interested. I'm 61, and I hope to be able to remain uninterested in using it at all until I croak. ... The other day, somebody wrote me an email, said, ‘What is your stance on AI?’ And my answer was very short. I said, ‘I'd rather die.’” 🫡
Filmmaker Guillermo del Toro says 'I'd rather die' than use generative AI
Del Toro's new Frankenstein adaption reimagines Mary Shelley's 1818 Gothic novel. Frankenstein was like a tech bro: "creating something without considering the consequences," he explains.

This looks like something out of the concept art for Epic Mickey. And I kind of love it.
