Freelance Writer - Sci-fi and general nerd noise. I guess I also make games? Sort of? I also talk about Final Fantasy too much. I am very sorry. https://wbhwords.wordpress.com/ https://wbhwrites.itch.io/ Contact: [email protected]

It's (not) finished!

Deadline is at 6PM, but I sleep all day today, so this is as much as I could make in the 70 hours that I had to work on it. All art, code, and sounds were done by me and me alone...which is why it's as rough as anything that I make.

An arcade style UFO abduction game!

Yes, this is why people should follow my account that is better than the official White House account - I post dodgy pixel art and talk about games I'm trying to make.
A sneak peek that should tell you what I have in mind...
Alright, let's punch the new prototype some more...
I should take a second spin through that gem of a game...
Because of a block list I used ages ago, I didn't even get the pleasure of blocking them myself.
How was this never a Scott the Woz opening gag…
What the fuck, Grant?! I’m glad he’s stopping, but what would he need AI for? He’s a far better writer than me, and I wouldn’t be caught dead using that shit.
Someone please stop me, I started another Game Maker Studio project.

This is the future of Windows. Microsoft wants to rewrite Windows to turn computers into AI PCs that you talk to. It's now bringing AI features to all Windows 11 PCs today, in a bid to convince you to talk to your PC and let AI control it. Full details 👇 www.theverge.com/news/799768/...

Copilot Voice and Vision are now rolling out.

Theoretically, how large of a needle to I need to pop the AI bubble? Or will a small one do the job? I just want to do it quick, rip the bandaid off, and rid our lives of the trash.
I feel like Pain of Salvation’s Entropia is overshadowed by Remedy Lane and The Perfect Element, but this was the album that fully encoded the things I sought out in music from then on: melodic, deeply felt, usually somber, tonally diverse, conceptual.

It’s such a damn fine record. I still like a lot of their later stuff (I’ll gladly defend The Astonishing because I’m a freak), but this was their most mature record.
I guess I could have noted that I meant the 1963 Robert Wise adaptation, but I don’t know that anyone would have assumed that I meant the 1999 version.
Quote this with the first four Horror movies that come to your mind that are 10/10s for you. No cheating. Just the first four that pop into your head.

—The Haunting
—Invasion of the Body Snatchers (78)
—I Saw the TV Glow
—28 Days Later

-I Saw the Devil
-Coherence
-Jaws
This week has been terrible. Time to repair it with the best damned Italian food in town.
New fiction in progress. Still early, obviously, but...new fiction in progress.
It’s been over thirty years, and I’m still salty about this.
Scott Walker is a damn fine choice.
FFT, no contest.

(Yotei is probably good too though.)
Aside from Fire Emblem…yeah, kinda.
Other than dwelling in self loathing, I managed to fix a couple of issues with my turn based combat prototype, including a missing meter, an error causing the game to crash, a draw issue, and also the menu selector problem from last night.

Still not much of a prototype, but it’s coming along.
Looks like today is just going to be a depression day. Fucking lovely.
