It also is interesting in how it directly examines the concept of the savant detective and the idea of genius in general. Its at least partially metafiction about mystery's most cherished genre staple.

finished Hyouka. Wow. Its sort of an inverted Haruhi.

In Haruhi the heroine is a supernatural force injecting intrigue into the mundane, whereas in Hyouka the heroine is instead a preternatural force who /extracts/ intrigue /from/ the mundane.

RWBY's cosmology is certifiably insane. The reveals feel appropriate for the series' aesthetics but I hope they don't push it any further than this and explain away all the intrigue.

Them reverting Jaune was some coward shit, by the way. That's the kind of tragedy you have to commit to 100%.

I watched RWBY volume 9. Solid angst-driven bridge season. The payoffs didn't all work for me but the interpersonal tension did. Ruby's crashout and subsequent dark night of the soul are alltimer scenes.

Instead of improving I've slipped from casual player to full-on secondary
