For some reason my brain last night was like, "You've got to draw Miss Bellum. You've got to draw Miss Bellum."

Then this morning my brain was like, "You've got to draw Miss Bellum. You've got to draw Miss Bellum."

So here's Miss Bellum.

Still my favorite scene from the entire series.

32 years ago today, Homer Simpson was accepted into college. (Fun fact: The misspelling of the word “smart” was improvised by voice actor Dan Castellaneta.) “Homer Goes to College” first aired October 14, 1993.

I finally got myself a Barnes and Noble premium membership and put it to good use.

On a completely unrelated note; Fuck Elon Musk.

Daisy Duck? That will never catch on.

When Jim Henson first saw Drew Struzan's poster art for the first Muppet Movie, he quickly proclaimed he would be the main artist they would go do for paintings for the Muppet franchise. Not just for movie posters, but for merchandise and other promotions.

In the current entertainment landscape where quick photoshop jobs and A-I generated slop is used for poster art and promotions, it's a shame this level of talent and craftsmanship has gone ignored by corporations and the general public.

Struzan's artwork didn't just make you want to see the movies, they were just as wonderful, exciting, magical, and entertaining as the movies themselves.

Reposting this thread. RIP Drew Struzan.

I remember our excitement when my family received this movie on VHS for Christmas one year. That VHS was watched annually for over a decade, even after we got a DVD player. Better editions have come out since but the one thing they've yet to top is the use of Drew Struzan's art for the cover.

What if corporations talked about other things we don't want the same way they talk about AI?

"Poisonous mushrooms are here to stay, so here's 10 delicious poisonous mushroom recipes!"

"Mosquitoes are here to stay, so our new line of laptops are filled with live mosquitoes!"

This is a close second, though it's not super specific to Simpsons.

The Wubbulous World of Dr. Seuss premiered on this day in 1996. The show featured puppet versions of Dr. Seuss characters created by Jim Henson's Muppet Workshop.

This damn song keeps popping up in my recommendations and every time I end up clicking it and the song ends up getting stuck in my head. It might have "It's a Small World" beat as the most obnoxiously catchy Disney song.

If I have to suffer, so do you!

How is this any different from real life?

They actually made real Buzz Cola when the first Simpsons Movie came out, sold exclusively at the Kwick-E-Mart themed 7-Elevens. I still have a nearly 20 year old can to prove it (the contents of which were emptied long ago).

Most cartoon shows have the characters wear shoes whether their indoors or outdoors, but The Ghost and Molly McGee has the characters in socks whenever they're just hanging around the house, which is a detail I appreciate.

It does feel weird this is one of the few cartoons to include a detail like this.

I never wore shoes when I was in my house or visiting someone else's. Who knows where the Simpsons' shoes have been, they're getting dirt all over the place!

I'm surprised to hear soap can damage a puppet that much.

Bubsy has constantly repeated this phrase since he debuted in 1993, and this is the first time where it's actually made sense.

No AI here, just voice splicing (you have no idea how hard it was to find a clip of Homer saying "res").
