Galen stared at him, his eyes flat and far away, and then said, “You don’t need to. I’m not hurt.”
Sasha ignored him, and went to the pump, picking up a bowl and filling it with water. He grabbed a washcloth and pulled a chair up to Galen. He dipped the cloth into the bowl and then, as gently as he could, he started washing the blood from Galen’s face. Galen had gone incredibly still as Sasha cleaned him. It lasted for a few minutes, Sasha wiping away the remnants of the loss while Galen stared at him in disbelief. Finally, Sasha took a deep breath.
“I think you are hurt, Galen,” Sasha said, keeping his voice low and soft. “It’s okay, though. It’s okay.”
