The novel, Outlander, had this as a plot point.

All of these tbh.

Tell me your most life-affirming literary opinion.
vickymharris.bsky.social
Yes! The stick shapes of the letters come from the tree.

This. I look at my bookshelves, and in addition to the stories, the poetry, the history, they are someone's offering to the world. Years maybe of their life. What a gift.

Just read. Read, whatever you want. When words/images pass through your eyes and into your heart, you are more. Who doesn't want to be more?!
vickymharris.bsky.social
Who doesn't Patti Smith know LOL!
vickymharris.bsky.social
Just remembered who you are LOLOL.

And Atkinson, who listened. Maybe my sentimental fav.

McKendrick was my fav prof. Took several courses from him and he encouraged unhinged.

If you can you really should hop on the event. Still happening. It's one of the most incredible things I've ever seen.

I hate when I open a new book and see tiny font. If there are wide margins, you can make the font bigger. Websites too for that matter.

Interesting, lots of these responses that are unhinged in left field now perhaps, were taught as fact back when I was in college.

Tell me your most unhinged literary opinion, as a little treat

Eep! There was a light yellowy pink that smelled like some flower, too potent.

Never drew and coloured so many black jackets and boots in my life LOL! We still have bits of it somewhere, in some packed away bag of old crayons I won't give up. They still smelled as of 5 years ago when I last saw them.

Black scented crayons smelled like leather. I couldn't believe it when we got the kids the scented.

When I open the other place, I think what horrors will I see today. Less of that here by far making it much more pleasant. Threads seems to be chaotic. I enjoy reading people on Substack, but I don't post, been there done that 20 years ago on LJ and Blogger.

10.5, and 10.5 Apocalypse, I feel the same. You'll never get the best worst movie from AI.

In better news, my local-ish Barnes and Noble have expanded their literary mag collection so I can see more in print in the moment beyond Poetry and IDEK. Midnight Mind Magazine, which I didn't know about, and Bennington Review, both which I bought.

The day has turned. (I'm keeping the window reflection, because Patti Smith, like the sun, has brightened my day :-)
